Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through The Hits adds Spring Concert Dates at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

January 21, 2010

Carlos Santana and his legendary band are bringing their high-energy fusion rock show back to Vegas this Spring, releasing new concert dates for  Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. On Saturday, January 23, eight additional performance dates from April 21- May 2 will go on sale as part of Santana's exclusive deal with AEG Live.  For fans that prefer to take in the show sooner, the band returns to The Joint February 3-21, just in time for the release of the 10th anniversary edition of the Grammy-award winning album "Supernatural." In addition, The Joint is the only venue west of the Mississippi where fans can see Santana play through 2010.

Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits marks the first and only rock-n-roll resident show in Las Vegas, and features an ever-changing set list spanning the band's classics such as Oye Como Va," "Black Magic Woman," "Evil Ways," and "Maria Maria."  The show was exclusively designed for The Joint, which has been nominated by Pollstar Magazine as "Best New Major Concert Venue." Each performance includes a unique take on the band's repertoire, creating a one-of-a-kind experience for show-goers.

Launched in May 2009, Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through The Hits has been met with rave reviews.  The Los Angeles Times said that Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through The Hits  "proves what an unusual rock icon [Carlos Santana] is" and highlighted the "deeply energetic" performances of his long-time band members, who routinely have audience members dancing in the aisles.

Santana plays approximately 36 times per year at The Joint, with a show time of 8 pm. Performances are on select Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (dark Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays). Ticket prices start at only $51 and can be purchased by visiting the Hard Rock Hotel Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, online at Ticketmaster.com or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000. Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits was inspired by the band's 1999 release, Supernatural, that was destined to be the biggest of their career.  Supernatural, a long-overdue reunion between producers Carlos Santana and Clive Davis, brought fresh collaborations with (in alphabetical order) Cee-Lo, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Eric Clapton, Everlast, Lauryn Hill, Mexican supergroup Maná, Dave Matthews and bandmate Carter Beauford, producers the Dust Brothers, KC Porter, Wyclef Jean, and others.  The album spun off two huge RIAA platinum #1 hits - "Smooth" featuring Rob Thomas of Match¬box Twenty, and "Maria Maria," produced by Wyclef Jean - the first Hot 100 #1 hits of Santana's career.  The singles spent a cumulative half-year at #1 and paved the way for the album to amass chart honors and generate Grammy Awards® beyond anyone's expectations.  Now, in commemoration of the album's 10-year anniversary, Arista/Legacy will release Supernatural: Legacy Edition on February 16, 2010.  The new package adds a second disc of rarities - 11 tracks, eight of them songs that were not contained on the album, seven of them previously unissued.  www.legacyrecordings.com
